=Mesolithic Tools (Middle Stone Age)= [image:http://i.imgur.com/BtG2ZX8.png?2] Mesolithic generally refers to culture that existed in North-western Europe around 10,000 - 5,000 years ago, but may have started much earlier in the middle east. Mesolithic peoples incorporated small fine stone blades called microliths into wooden or bone tools. Mesolithic peoples were probably '''nomadic''' moving from location to location depending on the availability of different food each season. Although pottery from this era shows some regional variation, common features and designs suggest a single point of origin. This is evidence that ideas were being shared and spread between communities. There is also evidence that Mesolithic people collected plant foods such as grain form wild cereal grasses that would later be planted and give rise to agriculture (Neolithic culture).
